Labour and Social Development Minister Jameel bin Mohammed Ali Humaidan paid an inspection visit to Manama Centre for Voluntary Work Development.
Present were MP Abdulrahman Boumajeed, community personalities and other officials accompanying the minister during the visit.
The ministry-run centre was inaugurated last March as part of efforts to promote the culture of community voluntary work.
The facility has so far launched 12 training and voluntary work initiatives over the past six months, attracting up to 1,000 volunteers. The programme was coordinated with five government departments and 15 non-governmental entities.
The minister toured the centre and heard volunteers’ remarks and proposals to build a national voluntary work platform and contribute to social development.
