U.N. Special Envoy for Syria Staffan de Mistura said he is seriously concerned about the welfare of the people of Aleppo, which has become a de facto besieged city.
He says only two to three weeks of food supplies remain.
He warned the clock is ticking before Aleppo becomes a major humanitarian besieged area.
Earlier this week the UN's humanitarian chief Stephen O'Brien said Aleppo's food supplies remain dangerously low and many medical facilities continue to be attacked.
"Food in east Aleppo is expected to run out by the middle of next month. The international community simply cannot let eastern Aleppo city become yet another, and by far the largest, besieged area.
