Two Emiratis have raised the UAE flag in Antarctica, as part of a 10-day international expedition which explored renewable and alternative energy sources around the world.
Saeed Mohamed Al Nuaimi and Amira Al Hammadi also put up photographs of President His Highness Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan, His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President, Prime Minister and Ruler of Dubai, and His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi and Deputy Supreme Commander of the UAE Armed Forces.
Al Nuiami said that the trip aimed to raise awareness on environmental issues and the effects of global warming, as well as identify the level of damage caused by increasing water levels in the oceans, and seek renewable and alternative energy solutions.
