Supreme Council for Youth and Sports deputy general secretary and Bahrain Olympic Committee (BOC) general secretary Abdulrahman Askar has commended the efforts of the trainers supervising the Exercise Programme, being held in the kingdom.
This was announced at a meeting with the trainers at the BOC premises in Seef, where Askar thanked the programme officials for their role in contributing to the success of this first-of-its-kind event.
Askar also conveyed the greetings of Shaikh Nasser bin Hamad Al Khalifa, representative of His Majesty the King for Charity Works and Youth Affairs, Supreme Council for Youth and Sports Chairman, and committee President, and his best wishes for them in future tasks.
Saleha Al Rumaili leads an 18-member team of trainers for the programme, including Maryam Amin, Fatma Jamal, Awatef Al Nejdi, Mohammed Bakhsh, Mohammed Naji, Salem Bakhit, Rashid Slais, Omar Al Kuwari, Fadi Humaidan and Ali Rahma.
The programme, being organized by the BOC as part of its annual plan to offer a string of sporting and social activities for the public, comprises a set of activities in six different locations across Bahrain’s four governorates with three events per week.
These activities take place at Dohat Arad walkway in Muharraq, Al Fateh Corniche in Manama, Al Istiqlal Walkway in Sanad, Grand Khalifa Park in Riffa, Budaiya Walkway and A’ali Walkway on Saturday from 4pm and 6pm, where training instructors are made available to guide the participants in training sessions.
It’s worth noting that the programme was inaugurated last February by Supreme Council for Youth and Sports deputy general secretary and BOC general secretary Abdulrahman Askar at Muharraq’s Dohat Arad walkway.
Its main objective is to involve all segments of the Bahrain society in various sports activities and spread the concept of adopting a healthy lifestyle among the community.
