Head of Public Prosecution Nayaf Yousif stated that the public prosecution had received a report that a group of criminals in Dair on 7/4/2012 had gathered inside the village and closed all roads leading to it using dumpsters and palm tree trunks. Moreover, they also threw Molotov cocktails on police forces that led to the injury of a policeman. Following the canvasing of the village 10 bullets shells were found and after investigations it was revealed that suspect Mohammed Mirza Ahmed and another suspect were part of those who took part in that incident to deliver the greatest harm possible towards the police forces either through killing them or injuring them. On 27/6/2012 the above mentioned suspect was arrested who tried during his arrest to escape but fell and injured himself slightly following which he was taking to medical care and his relatives were informed on the situation when they inquired about him. A camera and a laptop were confiscated during the investigation and on 30/6/2012 the public prosecution began its questioning of the suspect during which it revealed a few injuries on his body which he confessed were incurred during his attempt to job over a fence in an attempt to escape arrest. With regards to the crimes put forward against him he confessed to all of them in detail stating he did with the agreement of another suspect who he had met during his earlier arrest. He also confessed to calling for more gatherings using social media on his mobile phone. Following the investigation of his mobile phone it was revealed the sending of several messages at different dates calling for more rallies and gathering. The Public Prosecution had accused him of attempting to kill police personnel and having Molotov cocktails along with taking part in unauthorized gatherings. It also passed a jail sentence until investigations are complete, downloading all contents of the confiscated items and the arresting of the escaped suspect.
