Prime Minister Abdullah Ensour on Thursday met with visiting Kuwaiti Minister of Education and Higher Education Nayef Falah Al-Hajraf and hailed the historical ties between Jordan and the Arab Gulf state.At the meeting, which was attended by Minister of Education and Higher Education and Scientific Research Wajih Oweis and Kuwait’s Ambassador to Jordan Hamad Al Duaij, Ensour also praised progress achieved by Kuwait in various fields, adding that the Kuwait model of democracy sets an example for other countries.The premier hailed Kuwait’s investment experience in Jordan, noting Kuwait is the top Arab investor in the Kingdom.He expressed pride in Jordan’s education system, noting that the Kingdom made big strides in the higher education field despite its limited resources.Jordan, Ensour said is committed to providing education to Syrian refugee children as it is a basic right despite pressure they place on Jordan’s education system.The Kuwaiti minister hailed the strong ties between Jordan and Kuwait and highlighted the role played by Jordanians in the development process that Kuwaiti witnessed in the educational domain.He said some 2400 Kuwaiti students are pursuing their higher education in Jordan and receive all attention and care from His Majesty the King, the government and people of Jordan.The Kuwaiti minister voiced understanding of the huge burden that Jordan’s shoulders as a result of hosting thousands of Syrian refugees, noting that his country provided aid to host countries of Syrian refugees including Jordan and Turkey.
