According to Ahmad Mohammad, another activist, the family of Abdullah Al Badi paid the bail for his release and he was reunited with his family. He further said that since Abdullah Al Badi was with his family no further details were available. Ahmad Mohammad said that Abdullah Al Badi was dragged to Sohar police station under the pretext of traffic violation last Thursday when heavy security prevented any demonstrations. The 21-year-old Sohar University student was taken straight to Muscat after being taken to Sohar Police station for traffic violation. He added that no charges were given in writing but seems he was orally told that he faces a charge of insulting the country\'s ruler among other charges. \"He is apparently also charged for breach of public security and for some of his postings on social media sites, including allegedly insulting video clips.\"
