Minister of Social Solidarity Ghada Wali held on Thursday a meeting with a Sudanese delegation to discuss means of boosting bilateral cooperation.
The meeting was attended by the Sudanese ambassador in Cairo.
Wali praised deeply-rooted relations between the two countries and reviewed activities of a number of charities in Egypt, notably the ministry's project to take care of 600 disabled children and provide micro-enterprises for their poor families.
Forty percent of projects are allocated to women in poor governorates, especially in Upper Egypt, she note.
The meeting probed another project carried out by the ministry to provide shelters of homeless children in cooperation with the Tahya Misr (Long Live Egypt) fund at a total cost of 164 million pounds.
