An Indian shopkeeper was stabbed to death on Saturday evening at his shop in the Rolla area. The victim was identified as a 34-year-old Indian national, Mohammed Sharief. According to the Sharjah Police, the shopkeeper was closing his shop in Al Ghuwair market at around 10.30pm when he was attacked by a group of more than 15 men, armed with knives and other weapons. The police said they received a tip off at the operation room from a resident who reported that a group of people was seen fighting. When the police rushed to the scene they found the shopkeeper wounded and struggling to stay alive. Police say that Sharief, who hails from Kerala and was a father of two, died due to excessive bleeding. A colleague of the victim was also injured in the attack while trying to help him and is recovering in Kuwaiti Hospital. When asked about the reason behind the attack, police said that one of the attackers had purchased an electronic device from the victim\'s shop and when he tried to return it a fight erupted between them. This led the buyer to round up a huge group to attack the victim.
