Khalid Jassim Al Midfa, Chairman of the Sharjah Commerce and Tourism Development Authority, SCTDA, stressed that the emirate now occupies an advanced stature among the world’s leading, creative and exceptional major cities.
Al Midfa explained that Sharjah now provides a comfortable living that combines modernity and tradition in a safe environment to its citizens, residents, tourists and visitors while the city is home to many people from various nationalities and is a favoured destination for tourism, residence and employment.
In an exclusive statement to the Emirates News Agency, WAM, Al Midfa stressed that yesterday’s launch of two major projects, the Aljada residential project costing AED24 billion and the Al Mamsha project costing AED3 billion, reflects the wise vision of H.H. Dr. Sheikh Sultan bin Mohammed Al Qasimi, Supreme Council Member and Ruler of Sharjah, which aims to make the emirate an international centre of culture, business and tourism that is recognised at various international events.
He added that both projects will promote the vital sectors of the emirate, most notably the tourism sector, due to the inclusion of residential, commercial, entertainment and sporting facilities, which will enable the emirate to keep pace with the demands of modern living and will make it a favoured destination for local and international visitors while supporting the Sharjah Tourism Vision 2021 that aims to increase the number of visiting tourists to 10 million by 2021.
Al Midfa believed that the unique lifestyle made possible by these new projects would become an important addition to the tourism services offered by Sharjah.
H.H. Dr. Sheikh Sultan bin Mohammed yesterday witnessed the launch of the Aljada residential project by Arada, as a partnership between the Basma Group and the KBW Investment Group. The project is the largest of its kind in Sharjah, and its first phase is expected to be completed during the final quarter of 2019, with the other phases being completed by 2025.
