Dr. Khalid bin Abdulaziz bin Sulaiman Al Salman, Researcher at the Arab and Islamic Studies Department of King Fahd University for Petroleum and Minerals, has recommended that Dubai Courts should be the benchmark for the development of litigation in Saudi Arabia according to his recently published research, titled, "
Provisions cause litigants to delay verdict."
This statement made after his visit to Dubai Courts, where he closely viewed its standard procedures that lead to its efficient management of cases, verdict enforcement and its upholding of the values of justice based on transparency, lack of biasness, equality, independence and innovation.
Dr. Al Salman made his suggestion based on the lessons learnt from the court’s experience in achieving justice and providing extensive facilitated judicial services.
He stated that Dubai Courts is following ideals and highly efficient, professional and flexible methodologies while praising its prominent reputation.
Taresh Eid Al Mansouri, Director-General of Dubai Courts, expressed his satisfaction at Dr. Al Salman’s recommendation. "This represents strong evidence of its achieved standards as a leading and exceptional court, and a model to follow in regional and international legal and judicial work."
He also highlighted court's diligent efforts to strengthen the trust in the justice system, establish the UAE’s pioneering on the global legal map and apply the prudent directives of Vice President, Prime Minister and Ruler of Dubai, His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, for the UAE to occupy first place internationally in all sectors.
Al Mansouri valued the important research by Dr. Al Salman, adding that he conducted his research with an in-depth knowledge, and his effective recommendation paves the way for developing the Saudi litigation system based on solid foundations.
He also expressed his pride for Dubai Courts as the legal body that will elevate and set the standard for the justice system in Saudi Arabia. He also highlighted the commitment of Dubai Courts to co-operate in enriching knowledge, transferring expertise and exchanging methodologies with the Saudi justice system, to ensure and spread the success of the recommendations to advance the fulfillment of litigation, in line with ongoing local, regional and international developments.
