The government of Saudi Arabia has expressed its profound concerns about the horrific massacres perpetrated in Aleppo, saying that the massacres amounted to war crimes against humanity.
An official source at the Saudi Foreign Ministry said the situation, "...is by far the worst humanitarian tragedy of the beginning of the 21st century unfolding before the international community's eyes," reported the Saudi Press Agency, SPA.
The source explained that Saudi Arabia is in close communications with key regional and international parties, as well as friendly countries, "who also reiterated emphasised the importance of taking immediate action to stop the carnage."
The source also said that it is important that the UN Security Council exercise its primary responsibility, under the United Nations Charter, to maintain international peace and security, added SPA.
