Risala Study Circle (RSC) Saudi National Committee will be deploying 1,000 volunteers to serve Haj pilgrims this year. Specially trained volunteers who could converse in multiple languages would be on duty to help the pilgrims, said a statement from the RSC. The volunteers belong to “Sneha Sangam"‚ a group that was set up on behalf of the "RSC Wake up Campaign." Stationed in Makkah and Madinah, they will serve the pilgrims throughout their stay in the Kingdom. The RSC volunteers will also be available in Mina, Arafat, Musdalifah and Jamrah from Dul Hijja 8 to 13. The RSC national committee representatives held a meeting with Indian Haj Consul Sheikh Muhammad Noor Rahman recently to discuss ways of strengthening the support services. Abdul Jaleel Maliyekal, Makkah (chairman), and Shareef Velimukku, Jeddah (convener), have been elected as leaders of the Haj volunteer core committee to work in coordination with the RSC Saudi National Committee.
