In implementation of the orders of President His Highness Sheikh Khalifa Bin Zayed Al Nahyan and the directives of His Highness Sheikh Mohamed Bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi, Deputy Supreme Commander of the UAE Armed Forces and Chairman of Abu Dhabi Executive Council, the Department of Municipal Affairs on Tuesday announced that two main streets had been named after Abdullah Omran and Hamouda Bin Ali Al Dhaheri in Al Reem Island and Al Maryah Island as part of Enwani project in appreciation of the outstanding national role they played for the UAE during their careers.
“Commemorating the late Abdullah Omran and Hamouda Bin Ali Al Dhaheri by naming two streets in Abu Dhabi after them shows the keenness of our prudent leadership on paying tribute to those citizens who contributed to building the UAE and served their country at all development, economic, social, media, security, environmental and heritage levels”, said Saeed Eid Al Ghafli, Chairman of the Department of Municipal Affairs.
Meanwhile, Abu Dhabi Municipality organised a celebration to mark this event about Hamouda Bin Ali Al Dhaheri street. Apart from Saeed Ali Al Ghafli, Chairman of the Department of Municipal Affairs, the celebration was attended by Khalifa Mohammed Al Mazrouei, Undersecretary of the Department of Municipal Affairs, Musbeh Mubarak Al Murar, Acting Director General of Abu Dhabi Municipality, Khalid Abdullah Omran Taryam, Chairman and Editor-in-Chief of Al Khaleej newspaper, Ali Bin Hamouda Al Dhaheri, Vice-Chairman of Bin Hamooda Group, Omran Abdullah Omran Taryam and a number of executive directors and representatives of strategic partners and national corporations.
The celebration, which was also attended by representatives of Hamouda Bin Ali and Abdullah Omran Taryam families, aimed to commemorate the two national personalities and officially announcing the naming of the two streets.
