The Representatives Council held its 6th regular session today under the chairmanship of its speaker Khalifa bin Ahmed Al Dhahrani. The session reviewed the reply of the Finance Minister, who is in charge of oil and gas affairs, regarding Bahrain’s diesel production from 2002-2012. It approved a report by the Financial and Economic Affairs Committee to amend some provisions of law 39 for 2002 concerning the general budget. It also approved reports by the same committee regarding draft laws to ratify an agreement between Bahrain and Korea to avoid double taxation and fiscal evasion, an agreement between Bahrain and India on exchanging information concerning taxation and two agreements between Bahrain and Kuwait Fund for Arab Economic Development to upgrade the water transportation network in the kingdom. The council also approved a report by the Services Committee regarding a draft law to amend some provisions of the Social Insurance Law.
