The Grand Mufti of Jordan Mohammed Khalayleh announced on Friday that the holy month of Ramadan begins Saturday in Jordan. During a ceremony attended by officials and clerics, Khalayleh said the crescent moon (hilal) of the new lunar month was spotted in Jordan on Friday, which makes Saturday the first day of the holy month.
