Abu Dhabi Quality and Conformity Council, QCC, today received a delegation from the Saudi Standards, Metrology and Quality Organisation, SASO, and the Emirates Authority for Standardisation and Metrology, ESMA.
The visit was aimed at exploring QCC’s expertise in developing quality infrastructure in the Emirate of Abu Dhabi, as QCC presented an overview of the electronic systems and devices used in market inspection drives as well as the mechanisms involved in dealing with offenders, and recalling non-compliant products from the markets.
During the visit, the SASO delegation was briefed on the mechanisms and procedures followed by QCC in its market surveillance activities in collaboration with Emirates Authority for Standardisation and Metrology.
The visit concluded with a field tour organised by inspectors from QCC’s Market Surveillance Department that briefed the Saudi metrology officials on QCC’s market survey mechanisms to ensure the compliance of all products traded in the markets with the relevant quality and safety requirements.
