The Shura Council stressed firm rejection of any blatant interference in Bahrain’s internal affairs or encroachment on its sovereignty.
It voiced the stance in the backdrop of the leaked telephone call, aired on Bahrain TV, laying bare Qatari regime’s conspiracies against the Kingdom of Bahrain.
“The leaked recording exposed Qatari regime’s coordination and cooperation, during the 2011 unrest, with the secretary-general of the defunct Al-Wefaq which was dissolved by court ruling, to spark chaos and undermine stability”, it said in a statement.
It slammed the plot led by the Qatari regime, in cooperation and coordination with Tehran and the terrorists in Bahrain, describing the plot as a dangerous development, which violates the GCC goals, mission and foundation charter, as well as the spirit of fraternity binding member states.
The Shura Council backed all the measures taken by the wise leadership, paying tribute to the Bahraini people who stood united to stave off threats, foil plots and protect the nation.
