The Qatari Businessmen Association held a meeting with a trade delegation from the Republic of Romania, currently visiting Doha, headed by HE Minister for Business Environment, Commerce and Entrepreneurship Ilan Laufer.
During the meeting, the two sides discussed means of enhancing cooperation in the fields of joint investment.
HE Sheikh Faisal Bin Qasim Al-Thani, Chairman of the Qatari Businessmen Association, affirmed the Association’s interest in exploring investment opportunities available in Romania and enhancing joint cooperation in this field.
For his part, HE the Minister Ilan Laufer pointed to the need for continuous communication between the two sides to diversify and deepen the fields of bilateral cooperation. He gave a detailed presentation on Romania’s business and investment environment, explaining the country’s economic fundamentals, which he said are the gateway to many neighboring markets in Eastern and Central Europe.
He also highlighted the investment incentives granted by his country to attract investors, adding that the stability of the economic and political conditions in the country and the presence of qualified and trained workers are all factors that stimulate investment in Romania, as well as the state achieved growth rates in GDP 5.8 percent for 2017 to become one of the fastest growing economies in the European Union.
