People continued protests in Bahrain to show their resolve to the Al-Khalifa dynasty and the world. Riots have erupted regularly over the year since the advent of the Islamic Awakening uprisings across the region. On Saturday, thousands of protesters lined the Budaiya highway connecting villagers West of the capital, Manama. Police fired stun grenades, tear gas and rubber bullets at the demonstrators. Videos from social media websites show Shiite Muslim demonstrators fleeing tear gas in Manama. These latest clashes came after the funeral of a man hit by a speeding car as he was running away from security forces. One of the people in the area, Abdulali Ali Ahmed, was killed on Saturday evening and witnesses said that tear gas inhalation was the cause of his death. Thousands attended Ahmed\'s funeral, chanting anti-government slogans and demanding an overthrow of the Al-Khalifa regime. The demonstrations began on Thursday during Bahrain\'s National Day celebrations. Protesters are demanding the monarchy give up its power to elected officials. But there has been no progress on political reform between the opposition parties and the ruling monarchy.
