Egypt\'s Public Prosecutor Hisham Barakat ordered on Friday the detention of prominent Muslim Brotherhood leader Mohammad Al-Beltaji for 15 days, pending investigations based on accusations of involvement in violent protests at Itihadiya Palace last December. A statement by the public prosecutor office said that it has charged Al-Beltaji with terrorism crimes, incitement to murder, and attempted murder of peaceful demonstrators, among other charges. Last December, members from the Muslim Brotherhood targeted peaceful demonstrators after the completion of Egypt\'s constitutional referendum. Previously, Al-Beltaji was also charged with other crimes that took place in Giza governorate and other areas.
