HE Vice President of the Senate of Jordan Samir Al Rifai said that the refugee waves being seen in the region, including Jordan, provides the 17th Doha Forum with more importance than ever.
Speaking to Qatar News Agency (QNA), His Excellency said that holding the event for the 17th year was a reflection of the success of the State of Qatar in gathering intellectuals, politicians, and economists to discuss issues that can benefit all Arabs.
He said that the outcomes of the forum's session, when implemented, will lead to a decline in the number of those seeking refuge. He added that the forum was a 17-year long political and intellectual gathering that tackles all the important issues, focusing this year on development and stability.
Al Rifai called on the international community to place clear strategies that can limit the refugee waves and help rebuild the countries torn apart by wars and crises.
