At the end of his participation in the 20th African Union (AU) Summit, Caretaker President Moncef Marzouki left, on Tuesday, Addis Ababa for Kuwait to attend the donor conference to gather humanitarian aid for Syria due to start on Wednesday. On the sidelines of the AU Summit which closed works on Monday, Marzouki had a series of talks with African Heads of State that focused on the development of bilateral co-operation and on mutual interest issues. These meetings allowed to discuss issues relating to African affairs, notably the Malian crisis and its repercussions on the region. The stress was put on the need to urge belligerent parties to comply with international conventions on armed conflicts, including the one aimed to preserve the rights of civilians and displaced people, and put an end to foreign military intervention as soon as possible for the benefit of a legitimate government .
