Jordan Engineers Association (JEA) President Abdullah Obeidat urged the government on Tuesday to move a refugee camp for Syrians near Mafraq to a “more appropriate” area. During a visit with members of the JEA council to the Zaatari Refugee Camp, Obeidat said the general condition of the camp was “poor” in terms of location and services. He checked on the facilities and services provided to Syrian refugees and noted that the area is very dusty and windy, adding that high temperatures and wild animals make the refugees’ living conditions difficult. Obeidat urged the government to reconsider the location of the camp before the conditions of the refugees worsen. Also Tuesday, a team from the National Centre for Human Rights (NCHR) visited the camp. During the visit, NCHR General Commissioner Mousa Breizat discussed ways to improve camp services with Jordan Hashemite Charity Organisation officials. From JT
