Public transport fares will not be amended after the latest reduction in fuel prices, according to Land Transport Regulatory Commission (LTRC) Director General, Salah Lozi.
In case of any government hike or reduction in the prices of oil derivatives, the LTRC takes into consideration all the factors impacting transport fares, notably fuel, but the latest adjustment of fuel prices was almost 0% for diesel and 5% for gasoline, Lozi said.
He said public transport fares were raised by 10 per cent in January after a review of the operational costs of the various means of public transport.
