National Institution of Human Rights (NIHR)’s President Saeed Mohammed Al-Faihani has received a delegation from Bahrain Manpower Offices Society, headed by Aqeel Al-Meharri.
The NIHR’s president briefed the delegation about the nature and duties of the National Institution and its role in protecting and boosting human rights of expatriate employees and domestic workers.
Al-Faihani stressed the importance of the partnership with NGOs to ensure the highest sureties of human rights in the Kingdom of Bahrain. He said concerted would realize the aspired goals of protecting and boosting the rights of residents and citizens thanks to the comprehensive reforms of His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa.
Al-Meharri praised the Institution’s role of boosting and protecting human rights in the kingdom, citing the importance of cooperation between both sides and continuity of meetings to achieve the common objectives in the interest of human rights in Bahrain and the aspirations in the protection of domestic workers and their employers at the same time.
The meeting was held as part of the National Institution’s cooperation with civil society organisations (NGOs).
Abdullah Al-Durazi, Vice President, Maria Khoory Head of Economic, Social and Cultural Rights Committee and Shaikha Al-Elaiwee, Legal Researcher from the National Institution’s side were also present during the meeting.
