Shaikh Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, the Crown Prince of Dubai and the Chairman of the Dubai Executive Council, has issued an executive order appointing Essa Al Maidoor as the Deputy Director-General of the Dubai Municipality. Hussain Nasser Lootah, the Director-General of the municipality, congratulated Al Maidoor on the occasion of his assuming new office. “Essa Maidoor has been exemplary in rendering his services as Assistant Director-General of the municipality. We hope he would lead civic body to new heights in his area with his talent and years-long experience,” Lootah said in a Press statement. Al Maidoor secured his Bachelor Degree in Engineering from Utah State University in the US. He is currently the Assistant Director-General for Engineering and Planning Sector at the Dubai Municipality where he makes the overall supervision and directs the public enterprise sector, which includes project management and management of maintenance and advertising section and a focal point of services and Coastal Management Section. Al Maidoor has been credited with the success of a lot of municipal projects, especially related to the buildings in Dubai, initiated by him. He was behind the preparation, development and supervision of online licensing system for various types of buildings in the emirate.
