Ties between Sudan and Egypt will extend further in the coming months, Assistant to the President of Sudan Dr. Nafea Ali Nafea said in a statement Saturday following his return to Khartoum from Egypt. Political parties in Cairo have agreed on the role of people''s contribution in developing further the special ties and economic cooperation and engagement between the two countries, he said and added that there''s agreement to work towards the benefit of citizens of both the countries. "There is an awakening in the Arab world and popular uprisings against western hegemony calls for political forces to play an active role," he said. Regarding the US initiative on Darfur, Dr. Nafea said, "I do not think that the initiative has limits." Sudan has rejected any new initiative, he added.
