Omniyat on Tuesday disclosed that an anonymous buyer has scooped up the most expensive penthouse in Dubai for Dh102 million, beating the previous record price tag of Dh60 million.
Located at One Palm by Omniyat, the penthouse apartment was purchased on the condition of a very specific request. Despite One Palm offering three swimming pools, the buyer asked that a 20-metre long private lap pool be built on the rooftop of his penthouse, so that he could swim in private. Omniyat accommodated the request as it continued the project build. The pool will become one of the highest and most private swimming pools in Dubai upon completion.
"Ever since the One Palm was announced, we knew that the penthouse would eventually become Dubai's most expensive residence. The deal was concluded at a record Dh102 million and we at Omniyat would like to congratulate the new proud owner of this incredible piece of ultra luxury real estate," Mahdi Amjad, CEO of Omniyat, said.
The penthouse is the largest of three triplex penthouses, and the owner will get to enjoy over 29,800 square feet of luxury. Each of the five en-suite bathrooms and several living areas offer uninterrupted and unique views of Dubai Marina's skyline and the Arabian Gulf.
The huge penthouse includes almost 11,500 square feet of exterior space, including several balconies, terraces and the rooftop area. The triplex unit has been designed in opulent rich textures of London-based luxury design studio Elicyon.
Due for completion in 2018, One Palm allows owners to choose their interior and finishes from two of the world's most esteemed designers to match their individual style. Buyers will be able to pick from interiors designed by either Japanese firm Super Potato, known for its chic and modern fit-outs, or Elicyon, famed for its involvement in the renowned One Hyde Park building.
One Palm will be equipped with a range of amenities and facilities to cater to its residents. The One Palm Clubhouse will include a fine-dining restaurant, indoor and outdoor swimming pools, indoor cinema, outdoor cinema and BBQ area, residents lounge, children's pool and playroom and a luxury spa.
Dubai is no stranger to ultra luxury property sales, with the previous record of the sale of a Dh60 million penthouse being held by a 14,000 square feet full-floor penthouse at Bvlgari Resorts & Residences on Jumeira Bay. This is followed by a penthouse on Fairmont the Palm that sold at Dh42 million in December 2012.
According to LuxHabitat's data for 2017, Palm Jumeirah and Downtown Dubai are prime locations for luxury penthouses. A presidential penthouse on the crescent of the Palm by Serenia stands at Dh36 million, while another penthouse on the East Crescent comes in at more than Dh25 million. In Downtown Dubai, penthouses have been listed for around Dh28 million.
