The moon-sighting committee will meet tomorrow evening (May 26) at the Supreme Council for Islamic Affairs (SCIA) headquarters to gather testimonies confirming the birth of Ramadan crescent.
The panel will also see whether other neighbouring countries announce the advent of the month of fasting, a SCIA statement said.
The committee which convened this evening at the SCIA meeting room said that it hadn’t received any testimonies confirming the birth of Ramadan crescent, adding that it would meet again tomorrow evening as a precautionary measure.
The panel includes Shaikh Adnan Abdulla Al-Qattan, Dr. Shaikh Ibrahim bin Rashid Al-Merrikhi and Shaikh Rashid bin Hassan Al-Bouainain.
