Labour cards and work permits can be electronically-Cancelled from today. The facility has been outsourced to Tas’heel service branches as the Ministry of Labour offices will no longer offer the services. As part of the e-governance efforts, the labour cards and work permits cancellation application can now be typed and submitted at Tas’heel. There are 25 Tas’heel service branches in Dubai, Sharjah, Ajman, Umm Al Quwain, Ras Al Khaimah and Al Ain. “There will be only one way through which the cancellation process shall be resumed. It would also scrap the need to approach the MoL offices in order to save time and efforts of customers,” Hameed bin Demas Al Suwaidi, Assistant Undersecretary of the Ministry of Labour (MoL) for labour affairs, said in a statement. The applications will be processed electronically and forwarded to the Ministry of Interior right away. “Therefore, companies and firms will not be able to cancel the residency visa with the Residency and Naturalisation Department without completing the said step,” Al Suwaidi said.
