A ministerial committee met Sunday with local representatives in Ghor Al Safi to discuss improving services in the underdeveloped Southern Jordan Valley region.
MP Sabah Al Sha’ar, South Ghor District, told Petra in an interview that a master development plan was handed to the committee, comprising Agriculture Minister Khaled Hneifat and Minister of Labour Ali Ghzawi and Jordan Valley Authority Secretary General, Saad Abu Hammour.
During the meeting, local residents aired a host of key demands, including opening labour and agriculture offices in Ghor Al Safi that are independent from the Karab Governorate, a produce branding and packaging factory as well as expediting land distribution regulations.
