Minister of Human Rights Affairs, Dr. Salah Bin Ali Abdul Rahman received the Chairman of the Gulf Center for Strategic Studies (GCSS), Dr. Omar Al Hassan. Dr. Salah welcomed the Chairman of the GCSS, and valued its high level research effort which included professionalism and skill, in particular regarding studies addressing Gulf current issues. The minister stressed that the studies carried out at the center attain a great concern from the Ministry of Human Rights Affairs, for the center is committed to objectivity and credibility in the preparation of its research effort, praising the supporting role of the center to uncover the reality of Bahrain tragic events. Those events targeted undermining the sovereignty of the Kingdom and its political regime through copying the events that took place in the other Arab countries which had their own geographical and political specificities. The Minister also valued the role of the center in responding to the inaccuracies raised by some foreign newspapers about the events of Bahrain in order to discredit the kingdom and its human rights reputation. He also stressed the importance of integrating all efforts including officials, civil society organizations, and those who love the Kingdom either at home or abroad to defend Bahrain. This could be done through reporting the true image of what happens in Bahrain, and the successive positive developments in the Kingdom’s Human Rights record. In addition, they should also report the true image of prosperity, progress and growth Bahrain has achieved during the past ten years. The Minister also discussed with the Chairman of the center increasing the level of coordination and cooperation during the next phase, and thus contributing to report the true information for the readers and followers of the research editions of the center. For his part, Chairman of the Center for Gulf Strategic Studies, Dr. Omar Hassan praised the active role of the Ministry for Human Rights Affairs on the national, Arabic, and World levels to shed light on the level of the civilized achievements and the human rights gains accomplished in the Kingdom of Bahrain.
