A delegation from Mexico’s foreign ministry is reviewing final procedures with Kuwaiti officials to open the first Mexican embassy in Kuwait City. Samih Johar Hayat, Kuwait Ambassador to Mexico, told Kuwait News Agency (Kuna) that “once preparations are completed, then administrative procedures regarding the opening of the embassy building and residence of the ambassador will begin.” The decision to open a Mexican Embassy was taken following the visit of Kuwait’s Prime Minister Shaikh Nasser Mohammad Al Ahmad Al Sabah to Mexico City last year. During the visit, Kuwait and Mexico signed several agreements aimed at boosting bilateral relations and cooperation, Kuna reported.
