An Arab man weighing 300 kilogrammes had to be lifted out of his apartment by Civil Defence.
The man, who was confined to his home, was helped out of the flat via the balcony using a rescue crane and cradle.
Lieutenant Colonel Sami Al Naqbi, director general of Sharjah Civil Defence, said the operations centre received a report at 6.16pm on Saturday about an obese man who couldn’t leave his apartment.
