Egyptian lawmaker Amin Massoud denied reports on meeting the Israeli ambassador in Cairo.
In a statement released on Monday, Massoud said the photos released by Rafah and Sheikh Zuweid district lawmaker Ibrahim Abu Shuaera on his meeting with the Israeli ambassador are fabricated. He said the released images are gathering him with former lawmaker Tawfiq Okasha and former lawmaker Sherin Ahmed Fouad in a restaurant.
He accused the Rafah lawmaker of defaming him, noting that he will take all necessary measures according to the parliament statute to defend his reputation.
Massoud reiterated that he has not demanded the evacuation of Sinai residents, but he only asked for moving them to areas away from the operations against terrorist groups.
He said his remarks depended on statement by the military spokesman on the army's killing of scores of terrorists within hours as part of the army's ferocious attacks on terrorist hideouts.
