After the Arab Spring revolutions in Egypt, which resulted in the resignation of the former Egyptian President Hosni Mubarak, a defense committee was formed. Some Kuwaiti lawyers have since volunteered to defend the former president as they feel he deserves competent representation. The Egyptian Defense of Hosni Mubarak, led by attorney Yusri Abdulrazaq, held a press conference in Cairo to form an international committee to defend the former Egyptian president. During this conference, the volunteer Kuwaiti lawyer Adel Al-Sibei from Kuwaiti Defense of Hosni Mubarak was appointed to attend this conference on behalf of the of the volunteer Kuwait lawyers who are not present in Egypt. This international committee includes lawyers from different Arab and European countries. “We are proud to be among the first members of this international defense committee. We support the committee, which will be located in Cairo, financially and morally,” said attorney Dr. Faisal Al-Otaibi, Head of the Kuwaiti Volunteering Defense of Hosni Mubarak. The Kuwaiti Volunteering Defense committee currently consists of four attorneys: Dr. Faisal Al-Otaibi, Adel Al-Sibei, Mohammed Al-Ajmi, and Bashayir Al-Habib. “We have volunteered to defend the former president, as we believe that he performed his role and duties without fault. The mistakes that we witnessed later were not because of him. We realize that there were many foreigners interfering in this revolution, and Mubarak deserves a fair trail, so we are defending him,” Al-Otaibi said. From:Kuwait Times
