The Kuwaiti Al-Rahma society has given financial and material support to Syrian refugees in several Jordanian cities and governorates. The donations were handed over to 700 Syrian families residing in Amman, governorates of Irbed, Al-Mafrak, north, and Al-Karak, located south of the kingdom, said Dr. Walid Al-Enjeri in a statement to KUNA on Saturday. Sheikh Faisal Al-Humoud Al-Malek Al-Sabah, Kuwait\'s former ambassador to the kingdom, participated in the philanthropic activity, also carried out by the society team, headed by Al-Enjeri and including Dr. Issam Al-Fulaij, Abdul Aziz Al-Uwayed, Abdullah Al-Ajmi, the director Abdul Aziz Al-Mislem and Dr. Ghazi Al-Enezi. Despite prevailing bad weather and torrential rain, the Kuwaiti tea, accompanied by Sheikh Faisal Al-Humoud, visited wounded Syrians at hospitals, distributing material aid to them. Sheikh Faisal affirmed during the tour Kuwait\'s solid support for the \"Syrian brothers in Jordan, Lebanon and Turkey,\" alluding to hundreds of thousands of Syrians who have taken up refuge in these countries, fleeing violence at home. He also urged the Kuwaiti people to continue to aid the Syrian people to help them cope with their plights. Moreover, the former ambassador to Jordan underscored significance of the international donors conference, hosted by Kuwait earlier this year, affirming that USD five million had been raised and donated to the Syrians at start of the Syrian crisis. Some one million Syrians have fled to Jordan.
