Kuwait's First Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Shaikh Sabah Al-Khaled Al-Hamad Al-Sabah reiterated Kuwait's aspiration to attain the membership of the International Organization for Migration (IOM) as an observer.
Kuwait is keen on achieving its humanitarian goals through boosting cooperation with IOM, Shaikh Sabah Al-Khaled said while meeting with IOM's Director-General William Lacy Swing, according to Kuwait News Agency (KUNA).
For his part, Swing expressed sincere appreciation to Kuwait's humanitarian efforts and contributions around the world, and its continued support of IOM's projects and programmes.
The two sides reviewed IOM's humanitarian activities and projects aimed at aiding affected people of crisis-stricken countries, particularly in the Middle East region.
The meeting was attended by Kuwaiti Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs Khaled Al-Jarallah, Assistant Foreign Minister for the Office of the First Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Dr. Shaikh Ahmed Nasser Al-Mohammad Al-Sabah, and a number of foreign ministry officials, KUNA reported
