The Kingdom of Bahrain and the United Arab Emirates, UAE, maintain exemplary long-standing fraternal bonds as brothers sharing a common destiny, according to Ambassador of Bahrain to the UAE Mohammed bin Saqr Al Maawda.
"The decades-long relations between the UAE and Bahrain were established by the forefathers and are being maintained by the our leaders," he said in a speech delivered at a celebration held by the Bahraini Embassy at Yas Mall to mark the Kingdom's National Day and the 17th anniversary of H.M. King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa's accession to the throne.
The UAE and Bahrain are members of the six-nation Co-operation Council for the Arab States of the Gulf, GCC, which also includes Saudi Arabia, Kuwait, Qatar and Oman.
Thanking the UAE for "taking honourable positions in support of the Kingdom", the Bahraini envoy greeted President His Highness Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan, His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President, Prime Minister and Ruler of Dubai, His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi and Deputy Supreme Commander of the UAE Armed Forces, and all the Emirati people.
Diplomats from GCC members attended the celebration.
