His Majesty King Abdullah on Monday expressed his pride in the Chechen community and their contribution to the Kingdom’s development and progress. During a meeting with Chechen community leaders at the Royal Court yesterday, King Abdullah said although the challenges ahead are numerous, so are the opportunities, expressing his optimism about the future of Jordan as long as all work as one team. Noting that the coming stage is crucial in the history of the Kingdom, His Majesty said all Jordanians should make sure that it will be a period of implementation and achievement, according to a Royal Court statement. The King tasked the government to cooperate with the Royal Court in meeting the needs of the Chechen tribes and provide the necessary financial support for a number of Chechen sports clubs, societies and institutions across the country. During the meeting, which is part of a series of discussions the Monarch has been holding with all segments of society, Chechen Tribal Council President Abdul Baqi Jamo expressed the community’s appreciation for the King’s efforts in leading the reform process, stressing the Chechens’ commitment to serve the Kingdom. King Abdullah listened to appeals by the Chechen leaders regarding the needs of their community, which include granting them pieces of land in Sukhneh and Azraq, university scholarships and housing units for the underprivileged under the Decent Housing for Decent Living initiative. Prime Minister Marouf Bakhit, Royal Court Chief Khaled Karaki and the King’s advisers attended the meeting.
