A Royal Committee tasked with revisiting the constitution as part of Jordan’s reform drive will pass its proposals on constitutional amendments to His Majesty King Abdullah tomorrow. The King will address a ceremony at Raghadan Palace, which will be attended by royal family members, heads and members of executive, legislative and judicial authorities, senior officials and diplomats as well as political leaders and media representatives. The panel, headed by former prime minister Ahmad Lozi, completed its recommendations on Wednesday which underlined the King’s keenness on invigorating political life within the constitutional context. It emphasised enhanced institutionalized political work and democracy to arrive at the aspired comprehensive political, economic and social reforms.
