The Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan Foundation has continued to distribute thousands of iftar meals to those fasting at Al Aqsa Mosque in Jerusalem.
This follows the directives of President His Highness Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan, His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi and Deputy Supreme Commander of the UAE Armed Forces, and the follow up by H.H. Sheikh Mansour bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Presidential Affairs and Chairman of the Foundation.
An official source at the Foundation stated that they have had to overcome many obstacles caused by Israeli occupation that resulted in closing down of the area surrounding the Aqsa Mosque. The Foundation collaborated with the Palestinian Centre for Human Perseverance to distribute thousands of meals in the final 10 days of Ramadan.
He noted that in the last 10 days, the courts of the Mosque are filled with tens of thousands of people from across the world who pray through the night. Therefore, the Foundation follows the directives of the wise leadership to provide iftar meals to worshippers.
The Foundation also distributes meals on a daily basis in the last 10 days to the Jerusalemite families residing in the old town.
The people who pray at the Mosque and face many difficulties under the occupation, thanked the UAE's wise leadership, the Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan Foundation, and the volunteers of the Palestinian Centre for Human Perseverance for the iftar meals.
Authorities of the Haseki Sultan Almshouse also expressed appreciation to the UAE for its support that enables them to feed thousands of families during this Holy Month. They wished the security, further progress and prosperity for the UAE, its people, and leadership.
