A relief convoy grouping 30 Jordanian activists headed on Monday to Gaza Strip to deliver medical and financial aid to the resources strapped Palestinians in the enclave. Mahmoud Abu Ghanima, leader of the humanitarian mission and the chairman of Agriculture Engineers Association, said in a statement the convoy, dispatched by Jordanian Lifeline Committee, carried medical and financial aid to fund development projects in the strip in support for the "besieged Palestinian people in Gaza." The convoy, "Ansar 4," is part of continuous Jordanian efforts to back the people of Gaza who have been suffering from deteriorating living conditions, due to the Israeli occupation, for several years. Jordanian Lifeline Committee has financed a total of 58 projects so far. USD 7,000-10,000 have been allocated for each project. Proceeds of these investments are being re-deposited in the commission fund for financing more humanitarian ventures. "Ansar 4" will support 25 projects, namely those that have proven feasible in helping local communities, coordinator of the mission, Kifah Amayrah, said. Up to 200 Palestinians have been employed for execution of these projects, he said, indicating at desire to help in efforts to slash unemployment in the strip.
