Jordan, Friday, has urged Israel to “immediately” open the Al-Aqsa Mosque/Haram Al-Sharif before worshippers and to refrain from taking any actions that would change the existing historical situation in Jerusalem and the Al-Aqsa Mosque/Haram Al-Sharif.
In a statement, Minister of State for Media Affairs and Communications and Government Spokesman Mohammed Al Momani said that Jordan rejects any violation against the right of Muslims to perform their religious rituals in their holy shrines.
The minister also condemned the escalation in the Al-Aqsa Mosque compound early today and asked for immediate investigation. Further, he reiterated Jordan’s initial stance which rejects and condemns violence.
The government, he added, has made intensive contacts to push for the immediate re-opening of the Al-Aqsa Mosque.
