The Al-Iraqiya Coalition, Sadr Movement and Kurdistan Alliance have convened in Irbil on Monday in order to withdraw the support extended to Iraqi Prime Minister Nuri al-Maliki and to solve the existing political problems through negotiations. The Al-Iraqiya Coalition led by Iyad Allawi, Sadr Movement led by Shiite leader Muqteda Al Sadr, and Kurdistan Alliance formed of the Iraqi Kurdistan Democrat Party led by Massoud Barzani and the Iraqi Patriotic Union of Kurdistan led by Jalal Talabani gathered together in Irbil. On their agenda was withdrawing support from Iraqi Premier Nuri al-Maliki and solving the existing political problems through negotiations. The meeting in Irbil was chaired by the leader of the regional administration in north of Iraq, Massoud Barzani. The participants decided to continue to hold similar meetings so that democratic rule in Iraq gets stronger and monopolization of the Iraqi political authority is prevented. Problems in Iraq are getting discussed in the Irbil meeting and the possibility of withdrawing support extended to al-Maliki is being considered. Iraqi Premier Nouri al-Maliki is facing serious criticism for his autocratic tendencies by many groups within the country.
