Dubai Police has recovered Dh2 billion by arresting 7,603 people in the last six months of the current year, Major General Khalil Ibrahim Al Mansouri, assistant commander in chief of Dubai Police, said.
As many as 111 wanted people were arrested with the help of international arrest warrants during the same period, the official added.
There was also a 6 per cent drop in the arrest of wanted people who are locals.
A total of Dh604 million was recovered by the police after implementation of security programmes.
Two people whose arrests stand out include a suspect who was wanted in 41 cases, and had issued dud cheques of Dh56 million, while another suspect was wanted in 54 cases for a fraud of Dh18.5 million.
