HH the Deputy Emir Sheikh Abdullah bin Hamad Al-Thani, the Chairman of the Board of Trustees of Qatar University (QU), presided over the third meeting of the Board of Trustees for the academic year 2016/2017, which was held at the Emiri Diwan Monday.
The Board approved the restructuring of the College of Shariaa and Islamic Studies to include three departments namely: the Department of the Qur'an and Sunnah, and the Department of Creed and Dawa, Department of Fiqh. The Board also approved new undergraduate programs in the College of Sharia and Islamic Studies these are Bachelor of Islamic Studies, Bachelor of Qur'an and Sunnah, Bachelor of Creed and Dawa and Bachelor of Fiqh and Principles of Jurisprudence.
The board also approved the creation of the Department of Physiotherapy in the College Health Sciences and agreed to the introduction of Bachelor program in Physiotherapy. The Board also approved the reactivation of the Physical Education bachelor program in College of Education.
