The Higher Colleges of Technology,
Abu Dhabi - Emirates Voice

The Higher Colleges of Technology, HCT, has signed a co-operation agreement with the University of Applied Sciences in Wedel, Germany, for the Bachelor of Logistics Engineering course in both campuses.

The programme provides professionals with the technical knowledge and expertise required to meet high industry standards and prepares graduates for a successful career as effective decision-makers with strong communication and teamwork skills and an understanding of the global, ethical and social implications of the engineering profession. It also inculcates a commitment to lifelong learning, education and professional growth, and instils leadership qualities to help them contribute actively to their profession.

Under the agreement, the faculty members of the German university will exchange experiences with their counterparts as well as teach students at HCT.

Abdul Rahman Al Jahoushi, Director of the Abu Dhabi Men's College, said that 88 students are enrolling in the Logistics Engineering Technology programme.

The partnership with the German university supports the implementation of the programme in the best manner in line with HCT's second-generation vision, which provides students with academic qualifications as well as professional skills, he added.

The Bachelor of Logistics Engineering Technology prepares graduates to be regional leaders and inspires them to be global leaders in creating and disseminating integrative knowledge in logistics engineering technology.

The course provides excellent broad education with specialisations to cater to the global UAE logistics industry. The HCT Logistics Engineering Technology programme aims to produce high-quality engineers with exceptional productivity, timeliness, dedication, and competence to the workplace. Graduates are expected to have the ability to work logically, accurately and efficiently; to gather and use information effectively and to continue enhancing their careers through lifelong learning.

Moreover, the programme is designed to prepare interested students for graduate studies in logistics engineering technology and other areas of professional practice. Students are trained to support the analysis, design, development and improvement of logistics systems in the manufacturing and service areas.
