Several visiting scholars, who are guests of President His Highness Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Monday visited the National Archives, NA, in Abu Dhabi, and were introduced to the UAE’s time-honoured heritage through several cultural books, the library and the archaeological documents of the NA, as well as historical documents on the development of the modern nation.
Ministries and UAE national institutions hosted several scholars who delivered lectures on fasting, which is a secret prayer known only to Allah Almighty and therefore, Allah Almighty promises those who fast with a great reward.
The Ministry of Presidential Affairs is supervising a programme, implemented by the General Authority of Islamic Affairs and Endowments, which consists of sessions on Noble Quran, informative panels sessions and lectures on the Prophet Muhammad, PBUH.
The Statistics Centre Abu Dhabi hosted a lecture by Hamid Ishaq for the guest scholars, titled, "Endowments are the Extension of Life", where he spoke about endowments as the best forms of sustainable charity work, as the community benefits from charity endowments. He also spoke about several kinds of giving that were recommended by the Prophet, and currently exist in major humanitarian and civilised areas, especially in the fields of education and public community services, such as building bridges, digging wells and building hospitals.
Scholar Dr. Abdulrahman Abbas Salman delivered a lecture on the teachings of Surat Yusuf at the Sheikh Hazza Mosque in Abu Dhabi, while Dr. Mona Fahmi Mohammed Gheetas delivered a lecture with the same title for the women at the Al Karama Mosque in Shakhbout City.
The lectures on the Prophet Mohammad, PBUH, witnessed a large turnout of women. Dr. Awatif Al Nabawi talked about several aspects of the Prophet's traditions at the Al Aleem Mosque in Khalifa City.
Dr. Zaid Abdulrahman also continued delivering lectures on the qualities of the Prophet at the Al Aziz Mosque in Al Reem Island.
